What is the Voice Legacy Interviewer?
It's a browser-based tool that lets you speak your funeral preferences aloud. There's no app to download and no new account to create. Simply enter the email address associated with your Everplans account and you'll be sent a secure link to start recording right away.
Is this the same as Everplans?
The Voice Legacy Interviewer is a separate service from your Everplans Vault. Your recording will be uploaded to your Everplans Vault if you have granted permissions, but this tool is not offered by Everplans and is not HIPAA-compliant. Please do not share sensitive information or health details outside your Vault.
Do I need an account?
No extra account is required. Just enter the email address you used to set up Everplans, click the link we send you, and follow the voice-based prompts. If you haven't already created your Everplans account, you'll receive an invitation to set one up so your recording can be stored and shared securely.
How can I make sure my family or funeral home will hear my recording?
Your recording will be stored in Everplans, where you control who can access it. You can share it immediately, or set it so your deputies and/or funeral home will only gain access after your passing.
Is my information secure?
Your recording is kept private and delivered only to the people you choose. Please note that the Voice Legacy Interviewer is not SOC 2 or HIPAA-compliant, so do not include sensitive personal, medical, or insurance details in your responses.
What if I run into technical issues?
Most people find it easiest to use their smartphone or tablet. If you're on your computer, we recommend Chrome or Safari with your microphone enabled. If problems persist, you can email help@leaveavoice.com or visit everplans.com/help to schedule a call with our concierge team.
Who owns my recording?
You do. We simply provide the tools to capture, store, and deliver it where you want it.
Can I record more than once?
Yes. You can end a session and start again anytime until you're satisfied with what you've said. At present, recordings can't be reviewed or edited on leaveavoice.com, but you'll receive a copy via Everplans and/or email. If you have new thoughts or change your mind later, you're welcome to come back and make a new recording.
